Susan Simon has spent her career in culinary pursuits establishing a name for herself as a professional caterer and cookbook writer in New York City and Nantucket. She travels every year to Italy from which she derives much of her inspiration. Of Susan’s five cookbooks, two of them showcase Nantucket inspired recipes: The Nantucket Table ($29.95) features summer dishes with an emphasis on seasonal island ingredients especially from the garden and the sea. The beautiful full-color photos of Nantucket places and recipes as well as observations of Nantucket life and lore compliment the easy to follow yet elegant recipes.

The Nantucket Holiday Table ($29.95) celebrates the joys of the island during the autumn and winter seasons with festive recipes presenting the best of Nantucket’s bounty: cranberries, beach plum, bay scallops to name a few. Seventy-five recipes, more than seventy full-color photos, personal stories and historical tidbits are all included in this homage to Nantucket’s relaxed off-season pace.

Susan will be at the Nantucket Atheneum Book Festival to sign and personalize these and her other cookbooks July 10th on the grounds of the Nantucket Atheneum.
